West Bend 82386 Kettle Krazy Popcorn Popper and Nut Roaster Review – I’m a popcorn lover. I eat it at least a few times a week. Ball games, movies, you name it… I order up some hot, fresh popcorn. When I’m at home, I usually just eat microwave popcorn. I really enjoy how quick and easy it is to prepare. However, recently I read a few articles online about how bad microwave popcorn is for you. I had no idea. I knew it wasn’t great for you, but I didn’t know it was that bad.

So I decided to shop around for a home popcorn maker. Sure, it won’t be as quick or easy to make. But it tastes better and it’s better for you. I headed over to Amazon, where I purchase most of my kitchen appliances. As usual, they had a great selection to choose from. This handy little machine doesn’t only make popcorn, but it also has the ability to roast nuts- another one of my favorite snacks. I also like the fact that it is dishwasher safe and easy to clean up. Since I make popcorn so often, I’m not looking for anything that is difficult to clean each time I use it. I want a popper that’s fast and easy, and that’s what the West Bend Kettle Krazy Popcorn Popper is.

Another one of my main concerns before buying is how well the machine cooks the popcorn. Years ago, I owned a popcorn maker that left a good portion of un-popped kernels, as well as some that were over done. The West Bend Kettle Krazy Popcorn Popper has a motorized rod that keeps the kernels (or nuts) in constant motion so that they are cooked evenly and not burnt. Once the popcorn is done popping, you simply flip it over in to the see through lid that doubles as a serving bowl. Just pop, flip, and serve. It’s that easy.

Like many others, often times when I make popcorn, I’m not just making it for myself. We have family movie nights at home and I make some for the whole family. Or when a big  game is on, I pop popcorn for my friends when they come over. The West Bend Kettle Krazy Popcorn Popper  is great for those occasions since it can make up to 6 quarts at a time. On top of that, you can make all different varieties like cinnamon, cheese, or kettle corn. It even comes with a recipe book full of great ideas for both popcorn and nuts.

The reviews from people who already own the popcorn maker are mostly positive. Overall it received 4 out of 5 stars. There were several comments about how much better the popcorn tastes than that made in a microwave. Others noted how easy it is to use and that  almost no kernels are left un-popped. The one main complaint is that the top/lid doesn’t fit very well which causes some of the popcorn to spill out. One lady said she alleviated this problem by simply putting on a small clip to help keep it closed.
