The KA-BAR Utility Knife is one of the Best Fixed Blade Knife that one can purchase. The brand has been around since World War II, when the United States Marine Corp adopted it. It is manufactured by the Camillus Cutlery Company and is a Bowie-style knife. The knife still preferred by many in the military because of its dependability. The Union Cutlery Company out of Olean, New York originally manufactured the knife. They have been creating knives long before World War II. They claim they got the name, KA-BAR, after a man who killed a bear with the knife wrote a testimonial, but the testimonial was ineligible. The letters k, a, b, and “ar” was the only legible part and that stood for “kill a bear.” The symbols stuck in 1923 and became the company’s trademark.
When the United States entered World War II, it was clear that a strong knife that was cheaper and easier to manufacture. The knife also needed to be easy to put into different positions in the hand. The Marine Corps worked for several years with different stilettos but could not find one that worked for them. They began working Union Cutlery in 1942 looking for their needs. The answer was found in a blade that was longer and stronger, and a steel cross guard with a leather grip. The first KA-BAR was labeled as 1219C2 and after several trials; the Marine Corp. adopted it. Only a few short months later, the Navy adopted it.

Tom Brown who was a survivalist and tracker created the Tom Brown Tracker, the best survival knife. The shape is similar to a spear, making it a great stabbing knife. Fallkniven A1L Survival Knives are known to be simplistic in nature and have a plain design, but this assists in keeping the price low.
This knife is not designed to be used as a kitchen utensil, but rather for food preparation on a camping trip. It is small enough to fitan emergency kit in a vehicle or hiking bag and is comfortable enough to hold for long periods of time. Fallkniven is a company based out of Sweeden, and they manufacture knives. They were founded in 1983, specializing in imported knives. Four years later, the company, led by Peter Hjortberger, began to design their own blades. Peter’s son, Eric, took over the business in 2009.
Most of the knives that Fallkniven produces are for military or survival. Their original knives had serial numbers etched into them for value, and their Special Editions still do.
